About the book

This is a story about falling in love, about the families we're born into, and the ones we find along the way. It's about grief and change and bravery. It's about food and music and discovering our own ways of moving through the world.

But most of all, it's a story about taking each other as we come, for who we are right now, and who we're stumbling toward becoming.

About the Author

Jennifer Lyn Parsons is a writer, programmer, and maker. With influences ranging from Laura Ingalls Wilder to Jim Jarmusch, her tales feature a rare physicality with details that feel hand-carved. She is also the editor-in-chief of the venerable Luna Station Quarterly. She finds joy in video games, comics books, and making things out of wool, paper, and wood.

The Mixtapes

While I was preparing to write this book, I made a batch of playlists. I knew music was going to play an important role, so I used it as a doorway to discovering who these characters were. I got to know them through the music they listened to. Fortunately, they all have stellar taste.

I made a LOT of mixes for this book. Be warned, though. Some of them are a bit spoilery if you've not read the book yet!
